Helping Design Environments on One of Netflix’s Biggest Shows

We joined Avatar to help launch the virtual art department and lead environment design, translating concept art into real-time 3D spaces with lighting, cameras, and layout for shoot planning.

After building a proof-of-concept, we assembled a team and worked closely with the director, production designer, and VFX supervisor. Our scope blended art direction, set design, and visualization - modeling, texturing, and using photogrammetry to accelerate an asset library. And we worked on approved cameras, which guided VFX vendors on exactly what to build.
