Safari Sosebee
ART DIRECTOR | CG GENERALIST | CINEMATOGRAPHER
In 2007 my started my career in film VFX where for several years, focused on creating photorealistic 3D environments and characters.
Every aspect of CG is such a pleasure, from asset creation and scene assembly to matte painting, lighting, and compositing. When something isn’t familiar, my instinct is to learn it! That curiosity, paired with a long-standing interest in video games, eventually pulled me toward real-time.
In 2014 I started my own company with my buddy Felix, where I learned Unreal Engine and applied my film VFX knowledge to real-time. During this time we got into creating VR demoes, small shippable video games and proof of concept video games. As film and TV began adopting Unreal Engine, that experience led to joining The Mandalorian Season 1 to help develop the Virtual Art Department pipeline.
From there I’ve been fortunate to help dozens of directors, production designers, directors of photography, and their teams, on some beefy productions, to visualize scenes well ahead of shooting so everyone stays aligned.
Whether it’s film, TV, commercials, games, and either the beginning or end of production, Im on board.
